About Dr. Laura Standridge

Laura Standridge D.C., B.C.N. is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and the founder of an innovative neurofeedback practice serving clients all over the country remotely, and in her clinic in northern New Jersey.  She was introduced to Coherent Neurofeedback after watching her son struggle with symptoms associated with apraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. A qEEG brain map showed exactly which neuropathways needed to be regulated, and the prescribed neurofeedback protocols helped her son so dramatically that she decided to not only expand on her functional neurology practice, but to convert it over to a Neurofeedback practice entirely. After training in the Melillo Method, she shifted once again into combining her decades of training. A mother of two, she’s devoted her professional life to helping other modern-day moms optimize their and their children’s brain health, in order to get the most out of their lives.

Dr. Standridge was born in Florida and raised in New Jersey, inspired most by her grandmother, who promoted an active lifestyle and good nutrition, since she herself was a child. This upbringing inspired an interest in natural medicine at an early age, and she chose a chiropractic doctoral education in search of a more holistic approach. She earned her doctoral degree (D.C.) at Life University School of Chiropractic in Atlanta, GA and later moved to New York City to train at one of the nation’s premier chiropractic functional neurology clinics in the Northeast, before opening her own practice in northern Bergen County, New Jersey.

During that time, she spent time with the president of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, who was a guiding figure early in her career.  Spending more than a decade with him, co-managing cases and studying under him was an exciting and transformative experience.

When Dr. Standridge was later introduced to qEEG Neurofeedback to address her son’s brain-based challenges, she knew it would become the focus of her practice.  She devoted countless hours to studying and began her training through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. After that, she would train in the Melillo Method for children and adults with what Dr. Melillo calls Functional Disconnection Syndrome. This journey gave her new tools she was missing in her functional neurology-focused practice, and it reignited her passion for brain work.

Inspired by Dr. Robert Coben’s leadership in the international neurofeedback community and Dr. Robert Melillo's in Developmental Functional Neurology, she trained in Coben's practice on Long Island, New York. Drs. Coben and Melillo's many research articles draw complex patients from around the globe. Dr. Standridge had the privilege of working with these patients during her training, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and Anxiety, Learning disorders, PTSD, brain injury and more.

In 2018, Dr. Standridge completed her exams and coursework to become a Board Certified Professional with the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. She opened her own new, independent practice in 2018 very close to where she lives, in order to both serve mothers and their children in her extended local community and be able to be home at important times in her children’s day. In 2019 she began her training in the Melillo Method, adding to her decade plus of post-doctoral work in the field of chiropractic functional neurology. Currently, Dr. Standridge is a Brain + Stem virtual tutor, helping fellow families figure out the missing piece to their puzzle in helping their children.

Dr. Standridge is currently editing the manual for a PT and inventor of a tool being used in clinical practices around the world and creating clinical protocols for its use in pediatric development disorders. She is happily married to her middle school crush and has been taking core-based barre classes for almost 15 years. In her free time, she’s probably chasing kids, reading a book about functional neurology or neurofeedback, or hanging out with her chiropractic friends… but you may also find her at Matter of Health or Wegman’s, barre class, or packing her bags for the Georgia, Florida or South Carolina beaches.
